Zach Bryan
Finished the next installment of my ICONOCLAST collection. 24”x48” spray painted stencil, acrylic marker, and oil paint on black laminated board.
The music of Zach Bryan helped me cope with the care and loss of my beloved Carrie Ann Roque. He gave us a love language that actively transcends generations with our eldest. Like the other musical artists in the collection he holds a place in my core being that will feed the growth of a new branch in the mighty oak of my life.

NAS aka Nasir Jones
There was something in the lyrics and ILLiteration of the songs that captivated me as a young man. The blend of knowledge and disses gave me an inner strength that I had not gotten in my developmental years. I tries to be an MC on the shoulders of giants like NAS, but although I didn’t make it, I fell in love with my adopted language.
NAS is a core part of my being’s thirst for knowledge and dominance over my consciousness. One of my life tenants I avow to is, “I don’t sleep, because sleep is the cousin to death…”

Guchie Jesus: Jared Leto
My first commission when I transitioned from the corporate finance world and into stay-at-home-stepdad-artist. MY beloved wife, Carrie Ann, was a avid fan of Jared Leto as a musician with 30 Seconds to Mars. I admire him as anactor that has stretched the boundaries of character acting in films like Dallas Buyer Club and Chapter 27. Here I painted him in a magnificent Gucci suit he wore for a photoshoot for Clash magazine. The storyh of the snake in the garden the design told captivated me like firefly to a flower.

This young woman was my introduction to a new generation of angst and pain put to sick beat. When I heard “BAD GUY” I fell in love with her anti-heroin point of view. My whole family (all girls ranging from 11-50 years old) fell in love with her style, and music. I have since become captivated by the prolific lyricism of someone so young and talented. Not to take anything from her brother Finneas O’Connell, which I think is one of the top 5 producers of our time. But there is something hauntingly beautiful about that voice.

As a kid i was hooked on every word I heard from this man’s mouth. There weren’t many heroes I could identify with as a white passing Latino. I was strongly attached to the vibrant Chicano movement in LA. I am at the core a child of my city and it’s people. I’m ambiguously all of the LAtino cultures found here. Mom is from El Salvador and dad from Guatemala, SoCal family from everywhere else the Sun God kissed people thrive.

Elijah Cummings: A Tribute in Color and Soul
This painting captures the essence of Elijah Cummings, embodying the powerful presence and unwavering integrity of a true gentleman and scholar. The background is a vibrant blend of deep burgundy and royal blue, symbolizing the passion and wisdom that Cummings brought to his life's work.
In the foreground, Cummings' likeness comes alive, crafted from layers of oil and acrylic paint. His presence radiates from the canvas, drawing you in with an inviting glow that reflects his commitment to humanity. The meticulous details around his eyes tell stories of empathy and resilience, while a lighter palette dances around his features, emphasizing his ability to inspire hope and change.
An undercoating of spray paint stencils add an urban edge—a nod to his roots in Baltimore and the heartbeat of Los Angeles. The inspiration of social justice warriors everywhere, the painting echoes his influence on both a personal and political level for me.
The interplay of textures and colors not only depicts a leader but also serves as a reminder of the ethical standards he stood for, inviting onlookers to reflect on their own impact in the world. This is more than a portrait; it's a celebration of a legacy that continues to inspire.
